More About David

Approaching my mid-40's I have started to ask questions like, "what's next”, and what is "my life" amounting to?

I have now had just over three years experience dealing with Immigration Law and Immigrating to Canada. For some, they will say that is not very long and that it takes longer time to become a "seasoned" consultant, and with enough experience to handle all types of visa applications"

However, I would like to add that even the most "seasoned consultant" or "lawyer" can be prone to mistakes and or become engaged in activity that others would find reprehensible!

Nevertheless, when you choose to work with me, you will know that you are getting your money's worth, and that you can be assured that my office will not submit anything without knowing that there is little to no room for error. I only say that because we work in an industry that is run by government bureaucrats! Moreover, governments do things that the rest of us cannot explain! Therefore, while it seems like everything is perfect according to all standards, for reasons unknown, the government has a way of making decisions that is in no way directed at any certain individual, but that they make their decisions without any accountability. These people, like all people live in the same physical world, but live in a very different logical world... meaning that, I have no control over what the government does and how it makes its decisions. My job is to take your story and life circumstances, and tell you, whether you stand a chance of immigrating to Canada.

How I arrived here at this point in my life is a story that needs sharing.

For me it began when I was in my late thirties, early forties, when I developed the “bug” for self-employment and wanting to know the feeling of "success" in my life, through the actions of what “I” do, rather than through someone else's actions... like following someone else’s dream!

Being bitten by this “bug”, I was to be plummeted into “having to take more control of my life” and “my Career”; I thus ventured out west, to Beautiful British Columbia, one of my favourite Canadian Provinces, hopefully to start my new career.

Being out in BC is a lot different from living in Manitoba! Out here on my own, I had to start developing new connections with a very different group of people. While it is different from moving to Canada from a different country, the transition from living in Winnipeg to living in Vancouver, presented me with my own challenges.
I grew up in a city of about 600,000 people or less, and I was never exposed to a larger urban city, such as Vancouver, however small, in comparison to other larger cities in the world. The mentality of the people out here seemed to be different from the people I was used to working with while living back east.

Nevertheless, I was to begin this new career in self-employment and I quickly realized doing business is a skill that only comes with time and patience, and, a lot of hard work! What I have come to realize in doing business is nobody is going to come down to my office and offer me “an opportunity of a lifetime” without trust.

For me though, I love my job, especially when things go right for my clients. When they do not, I love the challenge of making it right! I have come to know that no business is without a history of "trials and tribulations", and that we all make mistakes, it is just a matter of how well you deal with your mistakes. You will have the choice of using those experiences to help grow your business or you will lose interest in dealing with people because you cannot trust them and eventually you are going to make another mistake.

As a business owner being self-employed I have had to change the way I deal with my  “trials and tribulations” and turn them into valuable assets!

Having gained experience in two aspects of doing business, I have learned something about Canadian Immigration Laws, and doing business while setting up a business, each with its own set of circumstances that add up to a great deal of knowledge bruised knees, and a whole lot of responsibility.

Some, if not most people, will choose to pick a career that provides a steady income, while  allowing themselves some form of self-expression, while others, like myself are brave enough to put ourselves out there, risking being burnt, and traveling down that rocky road. Many types of careers only require the effort it takes to follow someone else's dream though, the road has been paved, meaning they are hired to work for a company and then receive a pay-cheque and go home to their lives.

Moreover, did you know that "Gaining in experience is only gained with experience"!
